I don’t know about you but every morning I have to drag myself out of bed. Then depending on what I have going on that day, I don’t even really want to get my day started. That is why I took the time to put together this list of things that you can do to make your day the best that it can be.
How many people here wake up to an alarm? Not me so this doesn’t apply to me. For those of you that do, how many of you snooze it and go back to sleep? Doing that right there is not going to start your day on the right foot. Now I know I am not “a normal” person. For example, I was up at 3 in the morning writing the blog post while the rest of my family was fast asleep.
Now that I am not doing closing shifts at work my body has gotten back into the routine of waking up early. Which for me is wonderful because it gives me many hours to get blog related things done before anyone in my family even wakes up. Now back to what I was saying about the alarm. If you are someone who likes to hit that snooze button then whether it’s your cell phone or an alarm clock put it on the opposite side of the room. This forces you to physically get up to turn it off. Now think positive thoughts while you do this, maybe even smile because remember this is the start of your day.

Now that you are up let some light into your room! Everyone associates black with depression. The easiest way to start your day off right is to just open the blinds and let the sunshine in. In a matter of minutes, you will notice an instant boost because the sunlight will give you the natural boost you need.
After that, make your bed. If you eliminate chaos by making your bed your bedroom will look a lot cleaner and put together than it actually is. Doing this every morning allows you to start your day off in the best way possible. At first, I didn’t believe this, I thought how could just making the bed make your day better. Then I started doing just this and just having less chaos in the bedroom does put you in a better mood its amazing!

Another thing from my 10 Ways To Boost Your Mood Instantly: Listen to Music. If you listen to upbeat music it not only gets you moving for the day but how can you feel down listening to a song like Happy by Pharrell Williams, or Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake? If those songs don’t get you in the mood then don’t listen to those. Find that song that gets you going.
You probably are in a decent mood now if you have done these things. Yet it can be even better. When was the last time a friend of yours did something for you? Did you thank them? What you didn’t? Then text them right now and let them know how awesome they are for what they did for you!
After you do that find out if they want to do something because having something to look forward always makes you feel good! The thing is, I want you to step out of your comfort zone on this one. Don’t just stay in the same boring routine of yours and ask them if they want to get coffee or go to lunch. Be adventurous! See if they want to go on a hike or to someplace neither of you has been before. Create awesome memories!
Have you heard of pessimist and optimist? Well, you can’t make your day the best if you are thinking like a pessimist. If you think like the glass is half empty then things will always look negative for you. No matter if they are or aren’t. No matter how bad things may seem just be glad of what you have because believe me they could be worse.
To piggyback off of the last one. If something bad has happened to you in the past let it go. “Remember, you can’t reach what’s in front of you until you let go of what’s behind you.” -Chinna Sharma
Who would have thought that helping others could make someone feel good? Oddly it is one of the fastest ways to making you feel good. The best part is when the person that you are helping doesn’t even expect it! That is why I am big on paying it forward.
I love to help out others when I can, any way I can. Even if it means spending my own money on someone. When it comes to my work we have fundraisers every so often. I am always the one making sure that everyone is doing their best to get as much raised for them as possible. Especially when we had the one for Children’s Hospital. I pushed everyone really hard on that one because I felt that place needed the most out of all the fundraisers we do. I love raising money for Children’s Hospital so much that if you click on the link on their name you can donate to them if you’d like to.
